Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that may help reduce the pain and stress to the body during and after an operation. It can also help minimize scarring and reduce recovery time.

The Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy, or LSH, procedure allows us to perform major surgery through small 5-10mm incisions using a slim laparoscope, almost like a small video camera, along with petite surgical instruments to complete the operation without using any big abdominal incisions.

LSH can be performed as an outpatient operation meaning you can be home resting within 24 hours after the procedure, and recovery time is reduced to just a couple of weeks. The recovery time is cut down from the more common 4-6 week period required after a traditional open abdominal hysterectomy.

As with all surgical procedures there are risks and concerns. We aim to educate you about the benefits and risks of everything we do so that you as the patient can make an intelligent, well-informed decision.

Call my office today to schedule an appointment to see if LSH is right for you.
